Before you arrive
Read the listing and note anything unclear. Confirm the appointment with the office; a suggested time on the form is not an automatic booking.
Inside the property
Look at natural light, layout, storage and access. Ask about heating, cooling and recent work. A viewing does not replace a technical inspection.
Around the building and neighbourhood
Look at the entrance, lift and shared spaces. Check journeys that matter to you and ask about parking and shared costs.
After the viewing
Take notes while your impressions are fresh. Compare properties using the same criteria and tell us what worked for you and what did not.
Your practical checklist
- Bring your requirements list and measurements of essential furniture. Ask permission before photographing an occupied home.
- Record your own observations separately from information you were told. Ask for clarification when something differs from the listing.
- Note one strength, one difficulty and the outstanding questions for each property. This keeps comparisons specific.
- After the viewing, tell the office whether you would like a second visit or different suggestions. Arrange the necessary checks with the appropriate professionals.
